What are some of the best soccer cleats with ankle support? Well the truth is that there are quite a number of very good soccer cleats out there that provide adequate ankle support for the soccer player. So much so that some of the differentiating factors have nothing to do with the actual ankle support at all but may have to do with additional features of those particular boots.
That being said though, there are a number of soccer cleats with ankle support out there, that I would prefer over other pairs. If you decide to purchase any products through the links on my page, I will get a small commission but at no extra cost to you. My top six are the Adidas Predator 18.3, Adidas Nemeziz Messi 17.3, Puma Future 18.1 Netfit FG/AG, Nike Phantom 3 Academy Dynamic Fit, Nike Magista Obra II and Nike Mercurial Superfly V CR 7.
Adidas Predator 18.3
The Predator 18.3 is a quality boot with ankle support. As with most ankle support on soccer cleats, they add that extra comfort around the ankle and gives good continuity between the leg and foot for the soccer player. This boots also boasts a primesh upper which allows the player to have better ball control at high speed.
The outsole is optimized for firm ground play, and has hybrid stud tips which allow for good traction and rotation during play. One thing to look out for is that some users have said that the boots do seem a bit long, so please consider that when making your choice.
Adidas Nemeziz Messi 17.3
This boot is a hit. Regarding the anke support it has a dual lock collar which gives ankle stability and secure lockdown. Along with these features this boot also has a soft agility mesh upper which allows the player to control the ball accurately and to have a very responsive touch on the ball.
The outsole of this boot is quite durable being made of rubber and of course the design, known as the messiGambitrax is quite attractive and will appeal to most soccer players.
Puma Future 18.1 Netfit FG/AG
This boot is also one of the top boots with ankle support because it also gives adequate continuity between leg and foot for the soccer player. The evoKNIT ankle collar is one which has been designed to give that needed support. Along with the evoKNIT collar, the boot has a Pebax hybrid sole which allows a soccer player to have maximum traction on both artificial ground and firm ground surfaces.
These boots are favored by players such as Sergio Aguero and Antoinne Griezman of the World Cup Winning French side. That fact speaks volumes about the quality of these boots in that both these soccer players are world class attackers, with Aguero being one of the most lethal strikers in the English Premier League.
Nike Phantom 3 Academy Dynamic Fit
One of the best soccer cleats with ankle support is the Nike Phantom 3 Academy Dynamic Fit soccer cleat. This boot boasts ankle support that is known as the Dynamic Fit Collar and it again supports that link between the leg and foot. The boot has an aggressive texture which allows the player to have great ball control. The nature of its outsole allows for good traction on natural and firm ground surfaces. This boot gets the job done and should definitely be considered as one of those pairs of soccer cleats out there that will offer up adequate, or even exceptional ankle support.
Nike Magista Obra II
This pair of soccer cleats is considered one of the better ones because of the other qualities which it has. The fly-knit upper allows for great ball control and traction. Anything that lends to good ball control and traction for the soccer player is a definite positive for that pair of soccer cleats. The ankle support on this boot also offers that added stability for the soccer player between leg and foot, and offers this in a most comfortable fashion. Nike does not disappoint here, and offers up another great pair of soccer cleats that offer up adequate ankle support, as well as several other positive features.
Nike Mercurial Superfly V CR 7
This soccer cleat is inspired by the one and only Christiano Ronaldo aka CR 7. The boot boasts having integrated speed ribs which allow for beter control at high speeds in all playing conditions. The boot also contains an ultralight 3d plate which fits your foot seamlessly and allows you to move at speed with or without the ball. The studs are placed with precision and allow for quick stopping and starting – something that all soccer players will engage in while on the field of play.
The Nike Grip system provides a real lockdown fit and the flyknit upper because of its stretch-ability, provides a real second-skin type of fit.
In conclusion , these boots all have their unique characteristics as well as some similarities. All in all however, the ankle support that these boots provide, coupled with the many other features of each boot make them the most preferred soccer cleats in this category.
